LastBridge.net : update
An update for lastbridge.net, I’ve completed some work and some of the new thing you can do with it now is have multiple playlist files each one for a station.
Makes it much easier to switch stations by having them
in a seperate playlist files. I’ve also added password reminder.
That will send you a reminder of your password you initially picked when registering and I’ve removed the single playlist files because now they are separate.

Hi,
This is a brilliant feature!
I discovered LastBrigde.net a couple of days ago and was frustrated that you could not switch stations without a computer, so I am delighted the solution came so quickly!
Well done!

hi ferny,
hello from snowy berlin and thanxs for the great LastBridge thing !
unfortunately I don’t have a soundbridge but another internet radio device.
this one does not understand the streaming address of lastbridge.net.
do I need to know a port or something ? I tried almost all ports with a 8 at first number.
usually if it does not understand a streaming format of whatever station i just have winamp playing it and look at winamp’s fileinfo. this have always worked. but not with lastbridge.
can you PLEASE make something that winamp can play the stream ?
thanxs a lot !

@samurex,
What device do you have?
So you are saying if it plays in winamp it will play in your device?
I can support another device, just as along as I know how it works.

I’m hoping to use Lastbridge as a Roku user who really wants Last.fm support. I’ve registered and added stations but I don’t get the playlist link — it’s missing. Any advice?
Thanks

The playlist like is no longer there instead there is a URL to a playlist and that is what you copy to your soundbrige and you must add stations for the urls to show up.

Question: on the add/edit station page at Lastbridge, if you click on a station you’ve previously added, Lastbridge says “Station has been changed to XX”. This used to mean that my last.fm personal playlist, set as a preset on my Soundbridge, would then start streaming music from the new station. This doesn’t happen any more now that the playlists associated with each station at Lastbridge are actual URLs. So, what does it mean to “change a station”?

So now the idea to change a station would be from the sounbridge.
Each playlist will always play that station, so to change stations within
the sounbridge just add all your station to the soundbridge and change stations within the sounbridge by selecting the next preset.
I suppose I can also re-add the single playlist file, if you like.

That would be wonderful, if you don’t mind. That way I can keep a large # of last.fm stations on my lastbridge account, more than could be stored as presets on my Soundbridge.
Thanks for your program – I love it!

Hey Ferney, many thanks for this sweet code. Unfortunately I don’t quite have it working yet. The SB pulls the preset up but cannot connect to the station. I’ve added the URL to the playlist.
Does my ‘player name’ on the roku interface need to be the same as my user name?
any other ideas?
thx,
Michael

Ferny
Thanks for the advice. I’ve now set up a number of stations as presets on my Soundbridge.
Quick question. There are no ‘now playing’ track details. Is this how it should work?

Thanks Ferny, This is a really Great program.
However, at present it is only possible to play your full library or your loved tracks and these can be set up as separate stations on your Internet radio by entering the urls from lastbridge in ‘my streams’ in reciva. If you try to play a playlist or a tag from your library, lastbridge generates a url which plays your entire library.
I too would welcome if you could re-add the single playlist file as I could then play anything I wished from Library, loved tracks, playlist, tags, friends stuff etc and I was able to do this using mobile scrobbler on the iphone. i.e the iphone was like a remote control for my internet radio.
So could we have both options for the best of all worlds.
Thanks again for your hard work.
Mike.

Just tried setting up a station which would only play tracks tagged ‘alternative’ in my library. Instead lastbridge generated a url which played tracks from the entire library of a friend.
I tried entering either of the following to generate a url in lastbridge.
Am I doing something wrong?
lastfm/listen/user/gaisce1/personal/alternative
http://www.last.fm/listen/usertags/gaisce1/alternative.

Hi,
I tried to connect my Soundbridge using the manual as shown here: http://www.revver.com/video/626311/how-to-use-lastbridgenet/
but it does not work, even after I changed the station there is no “playlist” link in the home menu of lastbridge.net.
I need help, urgently!!!
Thanx in advance
Stef

Okay, I found out that there is no playlist-link anymore, but when I copy the pls-file generated by lastbridge to a preset of my soundbridge and try to play that preset the soundbridge is unable to connect.
March 11th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
I’m having the same problem as Stef. I have the PLS URL from Lastbridge. Lastbridge is getting the playlist from Last.fm, so it is connecting fine. But my Soundbridge won’t use the PLS URL to connect to Last.fm. It just sits there, retrying and retrying to connect. I do have a Last.fm subscription. Other presets on the Soundbridge with the PLS format work fine.

I’m also having problems with the url. I’m trying to get it to work in Reciva and Winamp – using the url only (if it works there it should work as a stream in my Radios.
If i put the url into Winamp it’ll pop up “end of playlist”.
hum……
Also the video seems (it IS a year old) to have a slightly different version of the lastbridge – I’ve no “playlust er playlist” option.
BUT don’t get me wrong – DANDY piece of work!

The problem seems to be that the last.fm server lastbridge ultimately redirects you to is down:
For example
http://www.lastbridge.net/playlist/8dce759282b9f38ea99715272e9f7f61/3179/twparker.pls
contains playlist item
http://www.lastbridge.net/play/8dce759282b9f38ea99715272e9f7f61/3179
which redirects to
http://195.24.233.49:80/last.mp3?Session=f04010a0054af9e1ffb98553db41cd0a
and 195.24.233.49 is down. so it’s either a last.fm problem, or the server IPs need to be updated in lastbridge
